The Core Idea
Piecework rests on a simple but profound truth: when we do the disciplined work of integrating the distinct expressions of our inner lives, we cultivate inner peace and acknowledge inner power. That grounded peace and power become the source of outward courage and meaningful contribution. In this way, Piecework becomes peacemaking.
The model explores the full range of human expression, including the inner strengths that
ground us and the inner pressures that seek safety and belonging. These pressures require
discernment to know when to soothe them and when to heed their warnings, so they do not
unintentionally hold us back. Individual Piecework strengthens the collective patchwork.
Encouragement, in this model, is the disciplined practice of setting the conditions where courage and hope can grow.
